Winter Postal League Rules

Senior League

1. The Portsmouth round is to be shot indoors and the Frostbite shot outside. The Frostbite round shall consist of 3 dozen arrows at 30 metres on an 80 cm face.

2. All rounds to be shot under G.N.A.S. rules

3. Teams consist of 5 Archers for recurve, 2 for compound and 3 for Longbow.

4. Each fixture is a postal match.

5. Each match should be shot on a Club Target Day. If this is not possible then the Club may nominate a Tournament in which their Club members are shooting before the event takes place. If an Archer shoots more than once, then only the first score may be used.

6. If a Club enters more than one team in the same league, the top scores are used to make the A team, the next form the B team etc.

7. If a Club is drawn against a Bye there is no need to shoot that month. However if scores are sent in they will be recorded for the fixture but not included in the League Table.

8. Points are awarded to teams as follows:-

Win = 2 points

Draw = 1 point

Loss = 0 points

If the match is a three way contest points are awarded as follows:-

Win = 3 points

2nd = 2 points

3rd = 1 point

9. Hits, Golds, Tens, Nines etc are not taken into account.

10. Medals will be awarded to the winning team in each division.

11. Results are to reach the Organiser by the 7th day of the month following the match. Failure will result in the match being awarded to the opponents, provided they have sent their scores in time.

12. Archers can only shoot for the Club that they have nominated through G.N.A.S.

13. The Hertfordshire Archery Association must be the Archer's first named county.

14. If a Hertfordshire Archer changes clubs within the County after the start of the League Season they will not be able to compete for their new Club for the duration of the current season.

15. Only one score per Archer will be accepted in each discipline. An Archer may compete in more than one discipline.

16. The Organisers decision is final.

Junior League

The winter postal league is based on the ‘Portsmouth’ round, a trophy and medals will be awarded to the winning teams, plus medals to the highest scoring recurve and compound archers not in a winning team (So even if there aren’t enough juniors for a full team, there’s still the chance of winning a medal).

1. The round shot will be the ‘Portsmouth’ round.

2. The league will be based on five matches, one a month from November to March.

3. The archers do not all have to shoot on the same day.

4. Scores should arrive by the 14th of the following month.

5. There will be separate recurve and compound leagues.

The team for each month will be based on the top three scores for recurve, and the top two for compound.

A County certificate will be issued to all of the Juniors who enter for the Junior league, and are not lucky enough to be in the winning teams.
